Research and Development Institute “Energy-efficient Technologies of KNRTU-KAI named after A.N. Tupolev” (RDI EET) was established in 2004 as part of the Chair for Theoretical Basics of Heat Engineering. The Institute was involved in performing basic and applied research, developing experimental designs, creating and manufacturing new techniques for integrated and isolated electric power systems. 

RDI EET has been conducting research and developing new engineering facilities for power, motor and aircraft construction industries since 2004. The Institute has introduced and successfully implements a technology for creating new facilities including:

• - breadbording, creation of a breadboard model and draft (technical) design;
• - developing a complete set of detailed engineering documentation in electronic form in particular;
• - creating a pilot model and carrying out a full range of tests.

Carrying out scientific research and developing experimental designs for car-making and power industries are one of the priority areas of scientific and technical activities performed by the Institute.

RDI EET has its own production base that is successfully applied for making pre-production prototypes and breadboards of the developed products. The certified experimental base available at the Institute enables to conduct all types of necessary tests of the developed products.
